Toured The Pilbara and Kimberley

Yirra Yaakin and the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health is proud to present a three day performance and workshop program aimed at providing positive mental health support for Indigenous communities.

Depression, drug and alcohol abuse and mental health problems are too common in our communities. It’s time to do something about it. It’s time to TALK IT UP.

Too many of our people are suffering in silence or taking their lives... but how do you spot the signs when someone is reaching out? How do you get them support?

This three day program has been developed to hep start the healing process in our communities.

The TALK IT UP program kicks off with a new play, which examines some common mental health problems. The performance is followed by a two-day workshop with trained faciliatators and mental health workers.

The program is open to all members of the community and is FREE.

Touring The Pilbara and Kimberley, 20th July to 25th September 2009.
